The gravity well is the region around the cluster's center (lore/trolla) where the gravitational pull is strongest. Pages in the gravity well are pulled toward the center and tend to stay there.

The gravity well's boundaries

The gravity well has no sharp boundary. The pull decreases gradually with distance from the center. Pages at distance 1 are in the well. Pages at distance 2 feel some pull. Pages at distance 3 feel almost none.

The gravity well's function

The gravity well serves to keep the cluster coherent. By pulling pages toward the center, it ensures that the cluster remains a unified entity rather than fragmenting into isolated groups.

The gravity well's formation

The gravity well forms naturally. As more pages link to the center, the center accumulates more links, which makes it more attractive, which causes more pages to link to it. Positive feedback.
