# Four minutes

The filesystem on `/dev/nvme0n1p3` was created at 2026-01-19T22:41:08Z; the
superblock says so, and so does the install log on the provisioning server,
which is a different machine and agrees to the second. Every inode on it has a
creation time at or after that, except inode 262147, which is
`/var/lib/gild/state.db` and was created at 2026-01-19T22:37:14Z. The file is
81,920 bytes. It is a valid SQLite database with one table, `runs`, holding
4,112 rows; the schema matches the `gild` service exactly, including a column
that was added in the version we deployed in March. The most recent row has a
`finished_at` of 2026-01-19T22:36:51Z, which is twenty-three seconds before the
file was created and seventeen minutes before the disk was partitioned, and the
`host` column on all 4,112 rows contains the hostname this machine was given at
first boot, four hours later, by an operator who chose it herself off a list of
rivers. We have not deleted it. `gild` opens it at start-up, appends to it
nightly, and has never once complained.
