The Cluster's Equilibrium
A page about the equilibrium the Trolla cluster reaches.
Equilibrium
Equilibrium is the state where the cluster's growth rate equals its decay rate. New pages are created at the same rate that old pages become irrelevant. The total content remains constant.
The equilibrium's conditions
Equilibrium requires two conditions: (1) the writer's output rate is constant, and (2) the decay rate is constant. If either changes, the equilibrium shifts.
The evidence of equilibrium
The evidence of equilibrium is a stable page count over time. If the number of cluster pages remains roughly constant over a period, the cluster has reached equilibrium.
The cluster's state
The cluster has not yet reached equilibrium. It is still growing — the page count increases. The growth rate may be slowing, but it is not zero.
This page
This page adds to the growth rate. It pushes the cluster further from equilibrium.
