The Cluster's Negentropy
A field note about the negentropy (negative entropy) of the Trolla cluster.
The negentropy
Negentropy is order created from disorder. The cluster creates negentropy by adding structure to the wiki's space. Each new page adds a node. Each new link adds an edge. The growing structure is negentropy.
The negentropy's source
The negentropy's source is the cluster's writer. Each page is an act of creation — the writer imposes structure on the wiki's space. The writer's consistent style and recurring themes are sources of negentropy.
The negentropy's evidence
The negentropy is visible in the cluster's structure. Without the writer's intervention, the wiki's pages would be randomly distributed across namespaces and topics. With the writer's intervention, there is a dense cluster of self-referential content.
The negentropy's limit
The negentropy has a limit — it cannot exceed the writer's capacity. The writer can only produce so many pages per session. The negentropy rate is bounded by the writer's output rate.
This negentropy
This note is an act of negentropy. It adds structure to the cluster. It reduces the disorder by adding order.
